The Wonders of the Wii

posted 11/18/2008

Welcome to the 21st century in the Physicians Hospital System Rehabilitation Department. As a resource tool in rehabilitation, patients have the opportunity to play with the latest video craze that for many of them, their grandchildren are also playing! The Wii system is a video simulation of a sport/game activity that is played on a television screen, but controlled by the motion of the player. The Wii utilizes a broad variety of functional movements and tasks that a patient would use in the course of a day. The Wii will never replace the bowling alley, but the Wii bowling game is fun and simulates the movement of a real game. And even better, you can have a little competition, bowl against another bowler, exercise and have some fun. And if you don't bowl? How about tennis, golf, or baseball? All games are designed to strengthen muscles and improve your eye hand coordination. Just think, your grandchildren will be very impressed with your new-found skills!
